WALK A MILE IN THEIR SHOES

Walk a Mile in Their Shoes – January 31st

The online pledge system for Walk a Mile in Their Shoes on National Red Scarf Day on January 31st 2011, is up and running.  Please join Hannah and her friend Rick on January 31, 2011 as they "Walk A Mile In Their Shoes", to support people who are homeless and hungry.  You can help by -

Committing to Walk A Mile with your friends, family and co-workers and gathering pledges
Donating your financial support to the walk
By purchasing and wearing your Red Ladybug Scarf on January 31st, 2011.

Please tell your family, friends and colleagues about it too. Together we can make a huge difference in the lives of so many. We need to make sure that everyone has a warm, safe place to sleep at night and enough food to eat.

Riding for the Homeless

Bev from Erickson, MB was so inspired by Hannah and her compassion for helping the homeless that she decided she would help out as well.  Bev and her husband Roy decided that they would donate $1.00 for every mile she rode on her horse to The Ladybug Foundation.  She surpassed her goal of 100 miles and raised $125.00.  She started a Facebook group, Riding for the Homeless, and surpassed her goal of 100 members to 117 members, who encouraged her to keep riding as well as raise funds.   In total $800.00 was donated to The Ladybug Foundation through Bev’s efforts, which will help to meet the challenge to provide for homeless men and women.  Thank you so much everyone.

Transformational Canadians

More exciting news!  Hannah was nominated as one of The Globe & Mail’s Transformational Canadians.  This program will select 25 living citizens whose accomplishments answer the question “Everyone can name a great Canadian, but what does it mean to be in this group? Through their vision, leadership and actions, each of these people has immeasurably improved the lives of others. All 25 must combine a passion for positive change with the discipline and focus to achieve outstanding results."
